Stabilization of sliding-filtered soliton wavelength division multiplexing transmissions by dispersion-compensating fibers

Abstract: It is shown that the instability that occurs in sliding-filter-guided, periodically amplified wavelength division multiplexing transmission systems whenever the amplifier spacing is close to the collision distance may be removed by means of the proper dispersion management.
