New Materials For Solid State Sources and Light Conversion

Description

In this sub-research area we study and test new materials for solid state lasers at present operating in the Near and Mid-Infrared produced in Italy by ISTEC-CNR in Faenza, in China and in Russia. This activity is framed in several financed projects by Italian Defense in cooperation with ISTEC and by bilateral exchange projects with Russia, China and Armenia.
The activity on light converting materials deals with the study and the realization of phosphors without rare earths for lighting (in collaboration with Lebedev Institute in Moscow), and on photophysical studies of organic push-pull molecules for solar concentrators.
The group is also involved in the subproject SPHERES to deal with environmental research. In particular Guido Toci is responsible for the activity with defense financed projects.
