Abstract: Project START-H2 “Pre-legislation research for the definition of STAndards and Rules for Technologies about Hydrogen” falls within the theme a2) Methods and instrumentation for validation and certification of technologies and processes, and for the definition of standards and rules for the introduction of hydrogen in the market, contained in the call by the Italian Minister for Ecological Transition dated March 23, 2022.
The aim of the project is to develop fundamental research useful to define and implement methods, instrumentation and guidelines for the regulations about materials, components and systems for production, storage and transportation of hydrogen.
The products of the Project aim to provide technical-scientific support to the committees in charge for the definition of standards and quality rules, safety and certification of the supply chain of hydrogen.
START-H2 will contribute to realize a rules frame coherent with the guidelines and strategies defined at the european and international level, so fostering technological innovations and the competitive development of the hydrogen supply chain, with advantages and positive consequences in terms of the de-carbonization of the energy system.
