Reorientation effect induced by a CWCO2 laser in nematic liquid crystal

Abstract: We report on the interaction between CO2 laser radiation and the nematic liquid crystal MBBA. The experimental results can be explained by a reorientation of the director due to the electric field of the laser beam. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
