AM mode-locked Tm-Ho:BaYF laser widely-tunable around 2.06 µm

Abstract: In this work, we report on 300-mW average output power mode-locked laser, based on diode-pumped amplitude modulated mode-locked Tm-Ho:BaY/sub 2/F/sub 8/ (BaYF). Transform-limited pulse trains at 100 MHz repetition rate with a time duration of 110 ps have been generated with a controllable spectral tunability covering 59 nm around the Ho emission at 2.06 /spl mu/m. The characterization of the mode-locked Tm-Ho:BaYF laser was performed both in the frequency and time domains.
