On February 29th, 2024 CNR-INO organises a Demo Centre on Quantum Communication Applications in the framework of the project PhotonHub Europe.

The ‘hands-on’ seminar will take place in Florence, in the historical site Villa Il Gioiello (aka Villa Galileo), where Galileo Galilei lived from 1633 until his death.

The course targets a broad audience and mainly producers oriented to produce/exploit novel photonic technologies for security and communication. Basic knowledge of quantum mechanics is not required but knowing in advance the attendees’ background will help us to opportunely adapt the course.

The programme includes:
– Tutorials on Quantum Communication, Quantum Key Distribution, Free space Quantum Key Distribution and deterministic single photon sources
– Practical Quantum Communication training
– State of the art on Quantum Key Distribution
– Quantum Key Distribution – BB84 (hands-on demo – over free-space link)
– Remote demo QKD (fibre based Quantum Key Distribution demo)

The registration fee is € 250, reduced to € 150 for registrations before or on 11 Feb. 2024 and payments before 22 Feb. 2024.
