Guiding and switching of self-induced transparency solitons

Abstract: We first investigate the possibility of guiding self induced transparency solitons in one dimensional doped optical guides by means of the beam propagation method. The analysis predicts the all-optical routing of the whole soliton pulse between the output ports of a directional coupler.
