The current National Institute of Optics (INO) has been working for over eighty years in the Optics sector, in the broadest definition of the same, and has updated its fields of activity in line with the huge innovations that have characterized this sector over the last century. The activities are divided into the following programmes: pure and applied research, technological transfer, consultancy for public institutions and businesses. These are accompanied by SIT (Italian Calibration Service) metrology services and testing, again for public institutions and businesses, and training activities.
